Brant – Wainwright Graduation Portraits

From time to time I get to work with families that I know a little differently than others – this is one of those families that falls into that category.
It seems difficult to believe that enough years have gone by that I am now posting portraits of families I used to babysit for! Even crazier, is to say that Brant’s sister Miss Brooklyn now babysits those two little nephews of mine which I think is really cool. (The twins really like her!)

Thanks so much to the S family for hanging out on the very busy morning of graduation for a family session – and thanks to Brant for meeting up with me for a second mini session to do some individual portraits.

PS! I love it when families & grads bring along items display meaning to them! Feel free to bring things like sports equipment or special family momentos to your sessions! You never know what fun & creative ideas can be sparked by these treasures.

Quinton – Wainwright Graduation Portraits

This past weekend marked the graduation of another great group of students from the Blessed Sacrament School in Wainwright. Included in this group was Mr. Q – who I met up with a couple weeks ago for his formal portrait session. We started things off at the Wainwright Rail Park for some individual and sibling portraits, then finished off the session with a trip to Q’s school. With Q’s awesome choice of blue as his accent colour, I was excited to work his school colours into his portraits. Congratulations Quinton!

Miss Shawna – Wainwright Graduation Portraits

Just over two weeks ago this pretty lady graduated! It was one of those days that the rain came and left and came and left a few times – luckily that rain was nowhere around during Miss Shawna’s session with her family and friends.

These sisters are so beautiful!

I had the pleasure of working with Shawna’s grad escort Brant earlier in the day for a session with his family. He was a practically a professional model by this time in the day.

Austin – Wainwright Graduation Portraits

I met up with Austin and his family last weekend for his graduation session. Last year during his cousin’s session we were chased around by the rain – but this year we had the most excellent evening for his session!

Miss Shelby – Wainwright Graduation Portraits

I have to say that I’m pretty sure I have one of the coolest jobs around. I have been having the best time photographing so many amazing graduates this spring.

This beautiful young lady traveled from Strathmore for her graduation portraits here in Wainwright so we visited a couple of my favorite locations. Thanks for coming out Miss Shelby – I just love the way your smile shines through in these photos!

Miss Brooke – Tofield Graduation Portraits

A couple weeks ago I went on a quick little road-trip to Tofield to meet with this lovely lady on her graduation day. Miss Brooke was the first grad session of my 2014 season so I was quite excited! Brooke’s yellow dress was the perfect introduction to spring! So bright and vibrant!

Miss Bailey – Wainwright Graduation Portraits

Miss Bailey and I started out her photo session in the studio for a couple quick photos before we headed outside. We had a gorgeous day with blue skies and fluffy clouds.

Then after Bailey’s individual photos we met up with her brother and sister to end off the session with some sibling fun.

Miss Kate – Wainwright Graduation Portraits

Miss Kate wasn’t kidding when she told me her dress was very sparkly! I am literally still finding glitter in the studio, on my porch, and even my car! I think her beautiful dress is actually following me everywhere I go. 😉

Kate mentioned to me during her session that their grad class has a bit of a rustic/vintage theme this year. This particular location seemed to fit that theme quit nicely. Hopefully I didn’t make her too nervous as I climbed around like a monkey to capture these bird’s eye view shots.

Thanks again for hanging out Kate. Keep smiling that beautiful smile! I’m excited to see you at your graduation ceremony next weekend. Congratulations!

Grad Portraits 2014 by L Smiley Photography

Calling all 2014 grads! Don’t forget to book a portrait session to document this very special milestone in your life!

Believe it or not – I myself did not book professional photos for my graduation! I so wish it had been something I had made a priority for myself. I do have some wonderful photos from the actual grad day, but what I don’t have is any beautifully posed and planned photos!

I encourage all of this years 2014 graduates to really consider how important it will be to look back at your beautiful dresses or studly suites! It’s a HUGE accomplishment to get to the end of these crazy 12 years of grade school! Make sure to document it appropriately!
